We started our lesson on Energy. We learned that energy is the ability to do work. We are making our own rubber band cars. Using some paper cups, some other parts and the motor (a rubber band). We will be using them next week to see who can wind them just enough to stop in "the sweet spot". Until next week...

Today we did a project learning about the role bees play in pollination. We learned that flowers can't reproduce on their own and need bees and other insects to spread pollen from one flower to another. We made paper flowers with a sticky stigma (inside out label) and filled the flowers with different color pollen (coffee and cornmeal). 09/15/2016 – Planting the seeds
Today we started our seed growing project. We mixed up our peat with water to create our soil. We then put the soil in our seed watching container. We planted our seeds and covered with some more peat. Now we just need to wait for our seeds to grow. Click read more to see the pics.

In this project we were cutting out three different seed types and seeing how they flew. We were trying to see who's seed would land farther from the zone of darkness..... The zone of darkness is the area under the tree where the tree's shadow is and the seeds wouldn't get any light.
